CLIENT SUCCESS STORIES

The Challenge

A high-end hospitality company needed a significant HR overhaul.

The hospitality company sought comprehensive HR support for a full-scope review and overhaul, including:

  • HR strategy and planning;
  • Streamlining of processes and procedures;
  • HR system implementation across all branches of its U.S. operations.

Without an HR presence, the hospitality company’s finance team had a lot on its plate. So, the company’s CEO reached out to Peoplescape.

The Solution

We mobilized a multi-disciplinary team in a few days and assisted the client in consolidating its infrastructure, tools, and capabilities — just in time for its upcoming launch deadlines.

Peoplescape conducted and executed a full audit of the company’s HR operations and compliance. In addition, we:

  • Implemented a payroll systems conversion;
  • Fixed expatriate immigration irregularities;
  • Redesigned compensation and benefits.

What’s more, we developed an executive compensation framework for the rapidly-scaling business. And to ensure we met all budget and time efficiencies for the project, we broke it down into work streams and phases, assigning a lead consultant to each work stream to serve the client effectively while following program management best practices.

The Results

All HR policies for the hospitality company were revamped and implemented within the agreed-upon timeline, ensuring a substantially improved risk management profile for the business and a better work environment for its employees.

Despite the scale and challenges associated with this multi-layered project, our consultants were efficient in handling all the client’s concerns, suggesting improvements, assisting with implementation, and meeting deadlines with a 100% success rate.

The Challenge

An entrepreneur realized that they needed HR services for their startup from day one.

Each startup comes with its own unique drivers and differentiators. Startups who conquer personnel challenges, or have advice in place to anticipate issues before they arise, set their organization and people up for greater success from the very beginning.

The Solution

Our certified HR experts consulted the founder on the essential HR operations needed for the startup.

Peoplescape provided this startup entrepreneur (alongside many other new business owners and nonprofit leaders) with impactful, guidance on the 3 C’s for startups: Compliance, Communications, and Culture. The guidance we provided on HR compliance included the development of:

  • Handbooks
  • Templates
  • Policies
  • People processes
  • Hiring processes
  • Payroll

We also assisted in streamlining their HR back-office operations, moving payroll to a cloud-based system, and continuing to fine-tune their HR operations on a month-to-month basis.

The Results

The entrepreneur received insightful guidance on people engagement and operations for peace of mind around HR compliance, gaining the freedom to focus on the startup and laying a strong foundation for building a company culture that would easily attract investors.

Many small businesses use our consulting solution to keep organization culture and communications on track, drive employee attraction and engagement, and maintain compliance and best practice on an ongoing basis. In doing so, they maximize their risk management while saving money since they don’t need to staff an internal HR department.

The Challenge

A creative consumer products and marketing startup sought a smart HR Manager.

When one of the world’s most successful and creative trio of entrepreneurs approached Peoplescape to find them their very first HR Manager, our team spun into action. Inspired by the giving side of their company’s mission and the chemistry and creativity oozing from the client and its operation, our dynamic recruiters sharpened their grit to make an impact for the client as quickly as possible.

The Solution

We made the company’s “corporate giving” mission the cornerstone of our recruitment campaign.

Our team honed its understanding at the outset, clarifying the needs of the role. Leaving no stone unturned, we then spent the next few weeks profiling, screening, and interviewing a variety of excellent candidates to create a short-list that exceeded the client’s expectations.

The Results

The client selected one of the stellar candidates from the short-list, and the new HR manager was thrilled to work for a company that shared their values.

In less than four weeks, the client had their perfect HR Manager signed and ready to move in.

The Challenge

A high-powered ad agency needed a strategic and tactical people leader.

A leading creative ad agency sought a Head of People who:

  • Understood creative professionals;
  • Knew the issues an advertising agency faces;
  • Had a deep appreciation and passion for the brand presence of this agency’s clients.

Since advertising agencies, in general, excel at providing their clients with strategies for building and promoting brands, it became paramount for this ad agency to embody this principle in-house by finding the rare gem of an HR leader who met all these expectations.

The Solution

We combined a cutting-edge social and digital search with an intelligent screening process.

As soon as we had the green light, we hit the ground running. Alongside our extensive networks in advertising, digital marketing, and PR, we leveraged our professional expertise, leading-edge technology, and other tools to exceed expectations on speed and precision of the candidate short-list.

The Results

The ad agency landed an outstanding hire, from the five high-quality candidates identified and vetted by our expert team, and it only took five weeks.

As we like to say, “Let us cover the talent search, while you run the show!

The Challenge

A talent agency needed anti-harassment training for all its employees, although not everyone worked in the same location.

The talent agency included music artists, roadies, and an office team.

The Solution

We customized our approach to include live trainer-led sessions and on-demand modules to accommodate travel schedules and diverse locations.

We delivered federal and multi-state compliant harassment training to the music artists, and office team, all the while making training interactive, engaging, and fun.

The Results

Employees of the talent agency increased their awareness and understanding of acceptable behavior and language in the most “non-corporate” work environments, while the talent agency complied with the latest anti-harassment regulations.

Employees learned that they still carried a legal responsibility for their conduct at the after-party or the studio session and with their online presence.

The Challenge

A small production company needed supervisor training and coaching for internally promoted production talent.

The company discovered that its supervisors, who were recently promoted for their technical skills, needed to learn how to manage staff.

The Solution

We created and implemented a two-phase training plan to help grow the supervisors’ management skill set.

Phase I (In-person and online management training)

We delivered a series of online and in-person management training modules and coaching sessions, which helped managers:

  • Gain awareness and skills in managing employees;
  • Build confidence in handling challenging performance issues;
  • Get knowledge about how to maximize employee engagement to achieve results.

Phase II (Harrison Assessment Profile)

We used a job suitability profiling tool to emphasize areas of strength in each supervisor. Then, we coached the supervisors on how to build upon those areas of strength in their profiles (and even mentor others), and improve the underdeveloped areas of their skill set.

The Results

The supervisors enhanced their team working and personal development skills to achieve more of their goals with results-oriented coaching, while the small production company benefits from improved team dynamics and productivity.

The Challenge

An Ad agency was concerned about unconscious bias at the Partner level limiting opportunities for younger staff and hindering efforts to attract and retain diverse talent.

The Solution

We rolled-out a customized 3-part series of Unconscious Bias trainings. The program built increased bias intelligence within the Agency. It drove employees to discover what they felt about their own sense of belonging within the agency.

Session #1 Awareness Building; Through understanding that we all have and display unconscious biases. We built awareness of our own biases and how the displays of micro aggressions impact others.

Session #2 Using the awareness we built deeper understanding of how to embrace diversity through our own learning about others and the interpersonal interactions we have with them. We simulated navigating team meetings and projects with an awareness mindset. We also explored areas in the agency where biases lurked and impacted the success of the company’s people and teams.

Session #3 We connected the learning by testing out different tools and techniques and discussed the organization processes which could be altered to build in the new awareness, understanding and tools to remove identified biases.

The Results

A post training survey demonstrated employees felt opportunities granted to younger staff increased, and feedback showed they felt the agency was clearly evolving into an ‘even greater place to work’.

This training program propelled the agency on its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) journey. Their next step was to conduct surveys, focus groups and develop a DEI strategy and approach to create a sustainable foundation for culture change and organization growth.
